In the nine months of 2022, the export of Russian meat products increased by 17% compared to the same period last year, from 442 thousand tons to 517 thousand tons. at the round table "Food security: a strategy for the development of the domestic market."Meat export from Russia increased by 17%

The maximum increase in export volumes was recorded for lamb and goat meat. Deliveries of these types of meat abroad increased 10 times. So, in January-September 2021, 91 tons of lamb and goat meat were supplied to foreign markets, and for the same period in 2022 - 912 tons.

There is also an increase in the supply of beef, pork, poultry meat. The export of poultry meat, according to Daushev, was carried out in 33 countries in 2022. China accounted for the largest number of deliveries — 104.3 thousand tons, followed by Saudi Arabia (38.4 thousand tons) and Kazakhstan (25.1 thousand tons). Pork was exported to 14 countries this year. The leader in purchases is Belarus, which imported 46.7 thousand tons. It is followed by Ukraine (25.8 thousand tons) and Vietnam (22 thousand tons). At the same time, deliveries to Vietnam were seriously reduced: in the first nine months of 2021, they amounted to 46.5 thousand tons.

Director General of the National Union of Pig Breeders Yuri Kovalev said that the situation with pork exports is quite diverse. According to him, in 2022, the indicator decreased by about 20% compared to last year against the backdrop of a "catastrophic drop in offal supplies to Hong Kong and Vietnam." They became unprofitable against the backdrop of rising logistics costs. “Supplies of by-products have decreased by about 80%. Pork shipments to Vietnam also declined as prices changed there. At the same time, shipments of pork to Belarus, Kazakhstan and Mongolia increased. This partially compensated for the decrease in supplies to Vietnam,” Kovalev added.

Director General of the National Union of Beef Producers Roman Kostyuk said that the only difficulty in exporting beef is that "Russia is being asked for more beef than we can produce and export." “We have manufacturers that are located in regions with mandatory vaccination, which excludes them from the register of suppliers,” Kostyuk said.

Daushev, speaking at the round table, stressed that Russian goods are of high quality and in demand in the markets of many countries. Rosselkhoznadzor is working to open new markets for Russian exporters. Thus, in 2022, access was obtained to 38 countries for 22 types of products subject to veterinary supervision.
