Enterprises of the Moscow region (including the Tula region) supplied 75,000 tons of beef and poultry meat to China in 2022, which is more than 25% more than in the previous year, Oksana Knyazeva, deputy head of the Rosselkhoznadzor department for Moscow, Moscow and Tula regions, said to the press conferences in Moscow.
Moreover, these deliveries accounted for more than half of the export products checked by the department and subject to veterinary supervision. "In terms of veterinary control over exported products, the analysis showed that the trend towards an increase in exports continues. Thus, the department controlled almost 8,000 batches, 128,000 tons, which is 13% more than in the previous year," she said. half of the exported products are meat and meat by-products, such as beef and poultry meat, which were sent to China."
As Evgeny Antonov, head of the department, noted, this is especially important, since it speaks of the quality of Russian products and the level of their control. “Joking with China is bad. If we send unsafe products, we can get a ban on the export of all such products from the Russian Federation, which will cause very serious reputational and economic damage,” he said.
According to Knyazeva, imports of livestock products to the region also increased in 2022. It amounted to 170 thousand tons, which is 10% more than in the previous year. "But this did not affect all types of goods. For example, the figures for imports of meat and dairy products are 20% lower than those for 2021, imports amounted to just over 10 thousand tons. At the same time, the volumes of fish products, which come mainly from Turkey and Iran, and feed for productive and unproductive animals from the EU and China, on the contrary, increased by 25 and 30%, respectively," she said.
At the same time, violations of veterinary requirements were revealed in 6% of samples taken from the received products. Due to gross violations, 126 tons of products were returned to the countries of origin. Some of the fish have been disposed of.
