The memorandum between Russia and the UN on agricultural exports is designed for three years and "remains as it is." The Russian Federation did not receive a notification from the Organization about the termination of the document, and did not send it itself either, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Vershinin said at a briefing.
"It [the Russia-UN memorandum] was signed for three years. <...> It is valid for three years," Sergei Vershinin said. "We have not received any notification from the UN side that they want to terminate this memorandum, and they themselves have not sent such a notification either. Thus, this memorandum is still in effect."
The senior diplomat stressed that in the latest message from UN Secretary General António Guterres "there are indications that this memorandum is part of the package, that is, indications that it may also cease to be valid." "But no formal steps have been taken by the UN side, so he remains as he is," Sergei Vershinin added.
