The Ministry of Agriculture does not expect a serious drop in production in the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation this year due to the pandemic. The positive dynamics in the development of the industry will continue.

"On the whole, according to the available forecasts, no serious drops in production are expected," said Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev at a meeting of the department's board. According to him, this is confirmed by the growth in production for seven months of this year. "The index of agricultural production was 103.3%, food products - 105.4%," he said.

“It is very important that globally our plans are not violated, including strategic ones,” the minister stressed. “The agro-industrial complex continued to work in a regular mode and without interruptions even during the period of the most active spread of the infection, providing Russians with high-quality products in the required volume.”

An important role played  the state policy in relation to the agro-industrial complex, which helped market participants go through the difficult period of coronavirus.
