Russia's largest pork producer Miratorg plans to invest 284 million rubles ($4.95 million) in the expansion of the meat production capacity at its meat processing plant SK Korocha, according to the company's latest statement.

Miratorg wants to produce more than 86,000 tons of products in consumer packaging in 2018, which is 7.5% more than in the previous year.

In 2017, the Russian company delivered more than 341,000 tons of pork products to the domestic market, including about 60,000 tons of consumer products.

The company's pig division currently operates at full capacity, processing more than 3.4 million pigs per year. SK Korocha, the largest high-tech meat processing enterprise in Russia, is equipped with 18 high-speed automated production lines in consumer packaging: minced meat, cutlets, steaks, sausages, shish kebab, products in marinades and spices, as well as ravioli and khinkali. The enterprise produces a variety of more than 200 items.

"Production growth is possible only with the guarantee of the highest quality - therefore, investments are allocated not only to the expansion of production and new lines, but also to the quality control system, " Miratorg's statement read.
