Miratorg, Russia’s leading meat producer, reports that in 2018 its pilot farm for growing and finishing dairy valves triples production of rose veal to 7.340 tons in comparison with 2017 year.

The infrastructure project for veal production is unique for Russia: it is the only farm in the country that supplies this type of product on a commercial scale. The project was launched at the beginning of 2017 and has already reached its planned capacity of 30.000 heads per year.

Miratorg operates own dairy farm to supply calves from and also has been purchasing calves from the market: the number of contractors increased almost by one third in 2018. Calves at the age from 3 days were purchased on competitive mutually beneficial conditions from 65 milk producers from more than couple dozen of Russian regions. Due to its own transport company as part of the holding, Miratorg covers all the logistics costs.
