Leading Russian meat producer Miratorg has increased its pork production by 0.4% in the first half of 2018 compared to the similar period in 2017, up to 206.6 thousand tons.
Miratorg’s pig-breeding division includes more than 80 sites in the Belgorod and Kursk region.The total number of pigs at the beginning of July 2018 was more than 2.2 million heads.
Korocha, which is the largest factory for slaughter and processing in Russia, processed more than 1.65 million pigs and produced about 172 thousand tons of products in the first half of 2018. According to the company, this is an increase by 2.4% compared to the first six months from 2017. Meanwhile, the production of meat products in consumer packaging increased by 12.8% and reached 32.5 thousand tons.
"The increase in production is due to measures to improve efficiency at all stages of enterprise activity, the introduction of advanced technologies and increasing the depth of processing," Miratorg’s Agribusiness Service commented.
