Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, during the annual report on the performance of indicators in the State Duma, said that Russia completely consumes itself, vegetable oil, meat and fish, and also covers 80% of domestic demand for vegetables and dairy products.

The head of the Cabinet recalled that two years ago a new practice of food security in the Russian Federation was spread. The effectiveness of its implementation, according to Mishustin, is very high.

“Our country completely absorbs itself – more than 100% – in grain and vegetable oil, fish and meat. “That is, the first delivery in terms of positions is ahead of the principles of work by almost one and a half times,” the prime minister said.

He noted that in the past two years, the state continued to subsidize the purchase of agricultural machinery, and also introduced preferential leasing programs, which is associated with the purchase of more than 32,000 tractors and combines in the agricultural sector.

At the same time, Mishustin admitted that there is work to be done in the industry: producers need more Russian seeds. Now their share is less than two-thirds, but the president has set the goal of reaching 75% within eight years. For this, 32 selection and seed-growing centers have already been created.

The prime minister also said that this year the program of concessional lending for farmers is expanding. In general, for the development of agro-industrial and fishery complexes in the direction of more than 340 billion rubles.
