Russia is provided with grain at 155%, sugar - at 125%, and meat – at 97%. Such data was provided by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, speaking in the State Duma with a report on the work of the government.
"We have solved the main issue of self-sufficiency. Today, we are provided with grain at 155%, and there is a very serious opportunity for export. Sugar – at about 125%, meat products – at 97%. It is very important that today we are self-sufficient and have fulfilled the food security doctrine", said Mishustin.
The Prime Minister also noted the action of the state program of agro-industrial complex. "It has not been subjected to any major cuts. 300 billion rubles a year is planned for about three years. The main areas are digitalization, land reclamation, land conservation and restoration, development of new technologies and purchase of equipment. We will continue to monitor and develop all this", Mishustin said.
On January 21, 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree approving the new version of the food security doctrine. The previous version of the document was valid since 2010. The share of domestic production in domestic consumption should be at least 95% for grain, 90% for vegetable oil, 90% for sugar, 85% for meat and meat products, 90% for milk and dairy products, 95% for potatoes, 90% for vegetables, 60% for fruits and berries, 85% for fish and fish products, 75% for seeds of domestic selection and 85% for salt.
