Evgeny Leshchenko, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region, spoke about the development of animal husbandry in the region at a press conference on August 19.

“Currently, our region ranks third in the Russian Federation in terms of the number of dairy cows, and is in the top ten in the production and sale of milk. In the Siberian Federal District and beyond the Urals, Novosibirsk Oblast ranks first in these indicators. The Novosibirsk region provides itself with a surplus of all basic types of food. Self-sufficiency in meat and meat products is estimated at 89%, and in pork - reaches 127%. The region provides itself with milk and meat products by 102%, eggs - by 126%,” Evgeny Leshchenko noted.

The minister stressed that the total volume of production of milk and meat of all kinds by agricultural producers of the Novosibirsk region satisfies the demand of the population of the region.

At the end of 2022, it is planned to increase the volume of milk production in agricultural organizations and peasant (farm) farms of the Novosibirsk Region up to 715.2 thousand tons (+8.1 thousand tons compared to 2021), meat up to 205 thousand tons (+4.1 thousand tons to the level of 2021). As of August 1, 2022, compared to the same period last year, more than all types of meat were produced by almost 23 thousand tons, milk by 24 thousand tons, eggs by 26 million pieces.

One of the factors positively influencing the development of animal husbandry in the region is an effective breeding base.

In the Novosibirsk region, 32 livestock breeding organizations are registered, including 4 breeding plants and 20 breeding reproducers for breeding farm animals and poultry.

In 2022, 10 large investment projects worth 32 billion rubles are being implemented in the Novosibirsk Region in the agro-industrial complex, which involve the creation of more than 2,000 new jobs.

In addition, annually agricultural producers of the Novosibirsk region implement up to 100 small and medium-sized projects (construction and reconstruction of industrial buildings, warehouses, on-farm roads, wells, silo trenches, etc.) worth up to 100 million rubles each for a total amount of 2 to 3 billion rubles.

About 4.5 billion rubles are provided for the implementation of the state program “Development of agriculture and regulation of markets for agricultural products, raw materials and food in the Novosibirsk Region” in 2022, where 3.4 billion are from the regional budget. In 2021, the amount of funds raised amounted to 3.5 billion rubles.
