Following the results of 11 months of 2018, the Penza Region became the leader of the Volga Federal District in terms of the growth rate of livestock and poultry meat production.

According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, in January-November the production of livestock and poultry meat in farms of all categories increased to 286.2 thousand tons, which is 10.8% more than in the same period in 2017.

As a result, the Penza region came out on top in meat production with an indicator of 49.3 thousand tons.

In addition, the region is the leader of the Volga Federal District in terms of milk yield growth, and got the second place in the turnover of organizations in the “Agriculture, hunting and forestry” activity.
