At the XV International Scientific and Practical Conference of the National Union of Pig Breeders, the main trends in the development of pig breeding, increasing export potential and the introduction of modern production technologies in this industry were discussed. Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Andrei Razin took part in the event.
In recent years, pig farming has become the main driver of meat production in the country. Over the 10 months of this year, large, medium and small agricultural organizations received 4.6 million tons of pigs for slaughter, which is 6.3% higher than last year.
Andrey Razin noted that this livestock industry is increasing its performance by 4% every month, which makes it possible to satisfy additional market needs for meat. It is expected that the positive dynamics will be maintained at the end of the year.
The main objectives for the further development of pig farming are to ensure biosafety and increase the volume of exports to foreign markets. The conference paid special attention to the implementation of new investment projects and modernization of existing enterprises.
