In Crimea, programs for the development of rabbit breeding and the industry of essential oil crops will be developed in the near future.

According to the director of the Research Institute of Agriculture of the region Vladimir Pashtetsky, the implementation of programs should begin in 2023

The Crimean authorities, together with the regional Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture (NIISKh), will soon develop programs for the development of rabbit breeding and the industry of essential oil crops. Vladimir Konstantinov, Chairman of the Republican Parliament, gave a corresponding instruction on Friday at an off-site meeting of the Committee of the State Council of the Region on Agrarian Policy and Development of Rural Territories.

"Submit for consideration by the State Council of Crimea together with the Institute (Research Institute of Agriculture of Crimea - TASS note) programs for the development of rabbit breeding and essential oil crops. head of the republic in order to give the necessary momentum to this issue," Konstantinov said.

Vladimir Pashtetsky, director of the Research Institute of Agriculture of Crimea, told reporters that they intend to start implementing the programs in 2023. “Each program will be [created] separately. For example, we calculated for rabbit breeding that in order to have at least 40 tons of meat a year, you need to start doing something. we have developed all this, we have a room, we propose to include 100 queens in seven private structures in one project, and they will start producing meat every month in just six months and this meat will be supplied without interruption to our sanatoriums, on the shelves of stores, because today neither we nor our guests have enough dietary meat," he said.

According to the director of the Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture, the program for the essential oil industry is supposed to develop from two to four areas: lavender, rose, savory, sage or mint. “We will immediately offer that, for example, if we do, then we are ready to give the product to an entrepreneur up to 20 sunscreens and everything else,” Pashtetsky added.
