All news / Projects on food security and technological independence of the agro-industrial complex are being prepared in Russia

 Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin ordered the preparation of new federal projects aimed at ensuring food security in Russia and the technological independence of the domestic agro-industrial complex. This was reported by the government press service.

In particular, the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development, will prepare a federal project “Personnel” by August 30 to provide the agricultural industry with new specialists. The Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development must develop projects “Veterinary drugs” and “Biotechnologies in the agro-industrial complex” by October 1 of this year. Within their framework, it is planned to establish the production of domestic veterinary drugs, plant protection products, as well as vital enzymes, food and feed additives. Until the same date, the same ministries were instructed to develop a federal project that combines two already existing “Agricultural science - a step into the future development of the agro-industrial complex” and “Creating conditions for the independence and competitiveness of the domestic agro-industrial complex.” The Ministry of Finance must also work out the possibility of financing all of these programs by August 30.

The current federal project to ensure food sovereignty “Development of agricultural engineering, mechanical engineering for the food and processing industries” will also be adjusted. The Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Economic Development must, by October of this year, prepare a methodology for calculating the required share of domestic and Belarusian agricultural machinery in the domestic market. In addition, they are obliged by the same deadline to formulate relevant indicators and measures for the project “Development of Large-Tonnage Shipbuilding”. Ministries must report to the government on the results of this work also before October 1.
