The Federal Center "Agroexport" has developed a methodology for assessing the subjects of the Russian Federation by the level of development of the export potential of agricultural products, the press service of the organization reported.
The work was carried out in order to create an information and analytical tool for monitoring the development of agricultural exports by regions, attracting potential investors in the export of agricultural products, as well as updating and promoting the topic of export development at the regional level.
The methodology includes the analysis of 22 indicators grouped into 5 thematic index components (sub-indices):
economics of the agro-industrial complex;
export of agricultural products;
investment development of the export potential of the agro-industrial complex;
a system to support the export of agricultural products in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation;
the work of regional authorities of the agro-industrial complex.
For a more correct comparison, the regions were divided into three groups depending on the volume of the economy of the agro-industrial complex in 2020.
The group with the highest economic volume of the agro-industrial complex includes regions with an indicator of more than 200 billion rubles, with a high volume of the agro-industrial complex economy - from 80 to 200 billion rubles, with an average volume of the agro-industrial complex economy - less than 80 billion rubles.
As a result of the calculations, the leaders in the ranking of regions in terms of the level of development of the export potential of agricultural products in the selected groups are:
Group 1: Rostov region, Belgorod region, Krasnodar region;
Group 2: Kaliningrad region, Bryansk region, Ryazan region;
Group 3: Amur Region, Sakhalin Region, Primorsky Territory.
This methodology allows for a systematic assessment of the regions on an annual basis, which will make it possible to identify trends and trends in the development of the export potential of the agro-industrial complex of the Russian regions and individual sub-indices, as well as to develop, based on the data obtained, methodological recommendations for the development and support of the export of agro-industrial complex products in various regions of the Russian Federation .
