World meat industry news

The farm in the village of Podlesnoye, Sosnovsky District, Tambov Region, has 250  reindeers. It all started in 2016 with several hoofed animals.

The whole history of the establishment of the farm and the peculiarities of breeding farm animals, unusual for the Tambov region, were recently studied by farmers of the region, representatives of the regional administration of agriculture and agricultural departments of the regions. A seminar on the development of reindeer husbandry in the Tambov region was held at the farm of Svetlana Gurova.

In order to develop the economy in 2018, the farmer took part in a competitive program for family livestock farms and received a grant for the development of reindeer husbandry in the meat sector -21 million rubles. With this money, the farm bought more than 100 red deer in Germany. Initially the farm was aimed at meat production. And the first delivery of meat  to the Tambov processing enterprises is planned for this year.
