Roskachestvo and the Ministry of Agriculture are starting to develop a program for sustainable economic development based on the "green" agenda. This was stated by Elena Saratseva, Deputy Head of Roskachestvo, in her speech at the round table "Sustainable agriculture: a priority for the state and business" as part of SPIEF-2022, reports The Dairy News.
She also talked about how organic agriculture is developing in Russia. According to Elena Saratseva, some "movement from below" on the part of individual agricultural producers has been observed for a long time. After the Federal Law “On Organic Agriculture” was adopted in 2018, the number of regions in which new enterprises appear in this segment has increased significantly.
Last year, the growth of organic agriculture in the world amounted to 10-12%, while in Russia the positive dynamics was 52%. The total turnover of the segment reached 16.6 billion rubles, Elena Saratseva noted. “This is only 0.2% of the total agricultural production in Russia, but still a significant increase,” she concluded.
