By the end of the year, Roskachestvo plans to begin checking goods imported through parallel imports, it can start with household appliances and light industry products. This was announced to TASS in an interview during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by the head of the organization Maxim Protasov.
"One of the first categories of goods that were imported through parallel imports was household appliances. Soon Roskachestvo will start conducting the first research in this segment to check whether parallel imports are counterfeit," he said.
Protasov noted that another area in which Roskachestvo plans to conduct inspections is light industry goods, including goods for children. "So far, the bases of the FCS [Federal Customs Service] do not record a significant flow of foreign brands that have left the Russian market, but I think that by the end of this year it will go, and inspections will begin with it," he said.
In early May, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation published a list of more than 50 categories of goods that will be available for parallel imports. It included a variety of items: from plants to medicines, from soap to weapons. In terms of technology and electronics, the list includes products from brands such as Siemens, Panasonic, Apple, Intel, Samsung, Dyson, Electolux, GoPro, Asus, JBL, Logitech and many others. The largest Russian marketplaces - Wildberries, Ozon and Yandex.Market - have declared their readiness to work with goods imported under the parallel import scheme. On June 7, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill legalizing parallel imports to the Russian Federation.
