The bulk of materials for laboratory research by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method were vegetables (40%), meat and meat products (26%), and fruits (22%). Genetic material (RNA) of the new type of coronavirus was not detected in any of the samples.
The testing was carried out as part of a project to assess the risks of food contamination with the pathogen COVID-19.
