The largest producer of chicken edible eggs in Russia in January of this year was the Leningrad region. This is stated in the Rosstat report on the socio-economic situation in Russia for the first month of this year.
292.6 million units were produced there. The second place with a serious lag was in the Yaroslavl region - 150 million. This is 20 percent less than in the same month last year. It is followed by Sverdlovsk, where 142.9 million eggs were produced, or eight percent less. The Chelyabinsk and Belgorod regions close the top with 140.9 and 124.8 million, respectively.
In the latter region, production increased slightly. However, the leader in growth was the Trans-Baikal Territory - 2.2 times. In the Arkhangelsk Region and Primorsky Territory, egg production increased year-on-year by 59.3 and 42.8 percent.
In total, 3.2 billion chicken eggs were produced in Russia in January of this year.
