On March 10, Agriculture Ministers of Russia and Belarus held a meeting. Dmitry Patrushev, the Minister of Agriculture of Russia, and Ivan Krupko, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, discussed joint achievements and collaboration prospects in mutual trade.

As Dmitry Patrushev noted, the pandemic has not affected the interaction between the two countries. Last year, Russia and Belarus compromised on several crucial issues. The countries, in particular, agreed on the balance of trade for the current year and developed the main directions for mutual work within the Union State.

Belarus ranks first among Russia's CIS partners in terms of the volume of agricultural goods turnover. The integration of phytosanitary control systems will contribute to cooperation development by increasing the transparency in mutual trade. The process is now nearing completion, with testing of the merged database underway.
