“Regarding the projected volumes of exports of meat products, colleagues here just talked about this: it will amount to 550,000 tons this year, which is $1.5 billion,” Vladimir Putin said.

The head of state drew attention to the fact that work is underway to open new markets for Russian meat producers.

“Yes, we are working to open China for pork, but I would like to draw your attention to the fact that thanks to our joint work with our Chinese friends and partners, we have already opened Chinese poultry and beef markets. We are working well with Vietnam, where poultry, beef and pork are open to us,” the head of state said.

Today, Russian livestock and poultry farmers export their products to more than 110 countries.

At the opening of the loudspeaker, the president noted the level of self-sufficiency of Russian livestock breeding in breeding products.

“According to a preliminary assessment, the level of self-sufficiency in the Russian Federation for domestic pedigree products for each type at the end of 2022 will be: cattle (cattle) of dairy breeds - 64%, cattle of meat breeds - 98.2%, pork - 84.6 %, sheep - 98.5%, in other areas - less. This means that there are obviously results, but there is something to work on,” Vladimir Putin commented.
