Since the beginning of this year, Russian pork exporters have increased supplies of this meat abroad to 130,300 tons. According to IMIT, Artyom Daushev, assistant to the head of Rosselkhoznadzor, spoke about this at a round table at the International Specialized Exhibition “KormVet-2023”.

This is seven thousand tons more than last year’s figure for the same period. The largest importer during this period was Belarus with 59,400 tons. The republic's leadership can be explained not only by friendly relations with our country, but also by the openness of borders and the relatively short time for supplies. Vietnam took second place with 42,700. Moreover, the figure increased over the year by 18.7 thousand. Russia's success in the market of this republic can be explained by the great interest of the Asian country in these products in general against the backdrop of a high level of production in Russia and the successful approval of veterinary certificates for these products.

Daushev said that supplies of this meat to China should expand in the near future. The Celestial Empire is one of its largest importers. Russia managed to get this country to lift restrictions on exports from the entire territory of the country. Our country has been expecting such success for more than 10 years. It became possible thanks to the long and complex work of Rosselkhoznadzor and domestic exporters themselves, who worked to improve the quality and safety of products, confirmed them documented and during numerous foreign inspections, and also provided colleagues from importing countries with all comprehensive information upon their requests. The assistant to the head of the department noted that all this will allow us to begin mass export of such products to the Chinese market in the near future. Now, according to him, the parties have already begun to discuss supplies.

Daushev also noted several important points related to the supply of products abroad. The first of these he named was the thorough fulfillment of the requirements imposed by the importing country. He noted that before exporting, it is necessary to carefully study the specifics of the country or region where the goods are sent. This, in particular, concerns specific food preferences, product characteristics, climatic situation and other factors. The representative of Rosselkhoznadzor considers the importance of production control over product safety to be another pressing issue. This is a banal requirement, but for some reason many people forget about it. Daushev recalled that if a pollutant gets in, restrictions will be imposed on specific batches or manufacturers, and with several violations they can affect the entire country.
