Since the opening of the Chinese market, Russia has already exported over 10 thousand tons of pork and other pig products to China. This was reported by Rosselkhoznadzor.

About 6.8 thousand tons were pure meat, the remaining volumes were pork by-products. The first deliveries began in March of this year. Then 27 tons were sent by JSC SK Korocha, owned by one of the largest manufacturers, Miratorg, from the Korochansky district of the Belgorod region. The party reached its desired destination in mid-April. On April 9, about 168 tons of meat were shipped by two enterprises belonging to the Rusagro Group of Companies - OJSC Velikoluksky Meat Processing Plant and LLC Tambov Bacon. Rosselkhoznadzor did not name the list of other exporters.

Earlier, the head of the department itself, Sergei Dankvert, did not rule out that by the end of the year, supplies of Russian pork and offal to the Chinese market could exceed 50 thousand tons. In the worst-case scenario, he expects exports of 20 to 30 thousand. The exact numbers, he said, will depend on the state of market conditions at that time. And the National Union of Pig Breeders reported that in total, in the next two years they plan to annually supply from 150 to 200 thousand tons of these products to China.

Let us recall that it took seven years for China to approve the supply of Russian pork to Rosselkhoznadzor and the producers of this meat themselves. During this time, the service provided Chinese specialists with all the necessary information about the products themselves and measures to ensure their quality and safety, and provided explanations on other production issues. In particular, the Chinese colleagues were presented with a system for controlling African swine fever (ASF) and other diseases of these animals. And the pig farmers themselves maintained the biosafety of their enterprises and the quality of their products, provided Beijing with the relevant documents and allowed them to carry out inspections of their enterprises. Thanks to this, China, for the first time in many years, agreed to support the principle of regionalization, that is, the import of products from regions that are epizootically free from diseases inherent in the animals from which they are obtained. This was the first serious step, which made it possible to discuss further technical details of pork supplies to China. The last time a successful inspection by Chinese specialists, confirming the quality and safety of this meat from Russia, took place from December 4 to December 14 last year. And on December 19, in Beijing, the head of the Russian department, Sergei Dankvert, and the head of the State Technical Institution of the People's Republic of China, Yu Jianhua, signed a Protocol on inspection, quarantine and veterinary and sanitary requirements for pork supplied to China from Russia.
