The Agricultural Ministry of Russia forecasts the production of grains and pulses at 127.4 mln tonnes, including 80.7 mln tonnes of wheat.
The expected crop will be lower than in the current season, when the production totaled 133.5 mln tonnes, including 85.9 mln tonnes of wheat.
In 2021, barley crop will decline to 19.4 mln tonnes (20.9 mln tonnes), rye - to 2.2 mln tonnes (2.4 mln tonnes), rice - to 1.077 mln tonnes (1.142 mln tonnes), buckwheat - to 867.6 thsd tonnes (892.2 thsd tonnes). At the same time, the production of corn for grain will increase to 14.4 mln tonnes (13.9 mln tonnes), oats - to 4.4 mln tonnes (4.1 mln tonnes), millet - to 494 thsd tonnes (396.5 thsd tonnes).
The Ministry says it is the basic forecast, while the optimistic scenario goes for 131 mln tonnes of grains, including 83 mln tonnes of wheat and the pessimistic one - 116.6 mln tonnes of grains, including 73.9 mln tonnes of wheat.
