This year, the Russian Federation is actively aiming to increase exports of pig and poultry products. Plans for the current year were discussed at a meeting at the Russian Ministry of Agriculture chaired by Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut. During the meeting, the ambitious task set by the President to increase the export of agricultural products by at least one and a half times by 2030 was emphasized.
To achieve this goal, export volumes must be significantly increased this year. It is planned to increase the supply of pork and offal, as well as live pigs, to more than 310 thousand tons. In addition, the volumes of meat and poultry by-products should exceed 400 thousand tons. To successfully complete the assigned tasks, it is necessary to increase production volumes and receive additional government support.
Representatives of industry enterprises at the meeting expressed their readiness to increase supplies and confirmed their export plans for 2024. Minister Lut also emphasized the importance of intensifying work in target markets and finding new countries for export development. This will make it possible to diversify sales markets and ensure sustainable growth in exports of pig products and poultry meat from Russia.
Thus, Russia is striving to increase its share in the global agricultural market, especially in the pig and poultry industries. This plan not only promotes the development of exports, but also creates new opportunities for the development of the domestic agro-industrial complex.
