Russia plans to study China's experience in complying with strict environmental standards in its own pork production. As Veterinary Science and Life writes, Alexander Dvoinykh, Chairman of the Federation Council (Federation Council) Committee on Agricultural and Food Policy and Environmental Management, stated this at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency.
According to him, these issues were discussed during a working visit to the Asian country by a delegation of the Federation Council committee. The senator recalled that in the PRC there are many environmentally friendly enterprises with existing equipment and technologies for purifying wastewater and air from livestock products. At the same time, he noted that these production facilities are located relatively close to large agglomerations, and the number of pigs there can exceed a million heads. “Our large enterprises are interested in these technologies,” Dvoynykh said.
The delegation of the Russian Federation Council also visited the Academy of Agricultural Sciences owned by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the possibility for Russia to exchange scientific knowledge with this organization, as well as expand the supply of agricultural equipment and machinery, primarily for meat production. Dvoinykh noted that the academy solves such a difficult problem as producing the volumes of products necessary for food security, taking into account the compact territory, but the huge population of the country. At the same time, the main directions of its activities are conducting breeding and genetic research, as well as the development and introduction of new technologies into production.
