In December, Rosstat summed up the GDP results for the first three quarters of 2022. GDP in agriculture is growing steadily.
Inside the gross product (GDP) is one of the most important parameters showing both the well-being of the country as a whole and individual sectors in the country. Rosstat provided data on how GDP has changed in the country and agriculture in the first nine months of 2022.
Rosstat data show that in the nine months (January-September) of 2022, GDP in Russia as a whole decreased by 1.6% against the level of last year. At the same time, GDP in the field of agriculture, fishing and hunting, on the contrary, grew by 3.5% over the same time.
The largest growth was shown by GDP in the field of agriculture in the third quarter of 2022 - here it grew by 5% compared to the same period in 2021. Stronger than in the field of agriculture, GDP during this time grew only in the construction sector (6.6%).
Rosstat notes that the change in GDP is largely influenced by world electricity prices, transportation tariffs, disruption of supply chains.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Russia in 2022 gathered record harvests for all grain crops. At the moment of mid-December, the harvest is about 159 million tons in bunker weight, in net weight - about 150 million tons. Grains account for one third of all Russian food exports.
