Russian-Japanese negotiations on cooperation in agro-industrial sector were held in Tokyo. The next round of negotiations on cooperation in the agricultural sector was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, reports analytical agency Imit. The development of the Russian-Japanese dialogue was continued by the deputy ministers of the agrarian ministries - Sergey Levin and Khiromiti Matsushima. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Russian embassy and the trade mission of Russia in Japan. The negotiation program included a discussion of bilateral access of agricultural products to domestic markets and partnerships in the implementation of investment projects in the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia. The Japanese Veterinary Service was interested in the Russian experience of using the principle of regionalization to prevent the spread of avian flu. A report on this topic has already been sent to the Japanese Animal Health Committee. Hiromiti Matsushima spoke about the results of the inspection and certification process of two Russian companies (Znamensky Selection and Genetic Center and ZAO Krasnobor), which should be completed by July 1, 2019. The participants discussed the problems of the supply of products of Russian enterprises already certified by the Customs Service of Japan as exporters of agricultural products. The meeting organizers expressed their intention to sign a memorandum of cooperation and joint projects in the Far East of Russia within the framework of the G-20 summit scheduled for June 28, 2019.
