Andrei Kochka, a representative of the Greenko Korma company, spoke about this in an interview with Veterinary and Life. This company has developed a new feed additive.

“This feed additive can, in some cases, replace antibiotics in action. We have a practice of using such an additive at a poultry farm for 2.5 years, as a result, the poultry farm completely abandoned the use of two antibiotics,” the speaker said.

He clarified that we are talking about a large poultry farm with a one-time landing of 3.5 million birds.

“For all the time there were 2-3 cases when local application of antibiotics was required. In general, the poultry farm minimized the use of drugs,” added the source of “ViZh”.

According to him, the feed additive has been developed for 8 years. The substance is produced from lactic acid bacteria. “Our team of microbiologists has been isolating bacteria for 8 years, selecting strains,” Andrey Kochka said.

In the production of a new feed additive, the company does not depend on imports, he specified.

The speaker added that this feed additive is already used by poultry farms in the Crimea, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories. There is experience of its use at an enterprise in the Moscow region.
