Experts of the Pyaterochka. Delivery” found out how much meat and semi-finished products the Russians ordered during the holidays (from May 1 to May 10), where they cooked the most kebabs and what types of meat were in special demand.

According to analytics, the demand for meat and semi-finished products during this period increased by almost 2.5 times. For the first 10 days of May, the Russians ordered 67 tons of meat, including semi-finished products, kupaty, barbecue in marinade, etc.

The most common types of meat used in the preparation of shish kebab for the mass consumer are pork and beef, they are also part of popular semi-finished products and shish kebab in marinade. The top three regions - leaders in terms of the frequency of ordering meat included Moscow, the Moscow Region and the Irkutsk Region. In terms of the number of ordered products, the capital (21276 kg) and the Moscow region (18961 kg) are predictably leading, and St. Petersburg (7442 kg) takes bronze.

Traditionally popular among Russians is chicken and turkey shish kebab. Chicken and turkey meat, semi-finished products and marinated poultry skewers were more often ordered in Moscow, the Voronezh region and St. Petersburg. But in terms of sales volumes, the top three are the same: Moscow (42,809 kg), Moscow Region (40,068 kg) and St. Petersburg (21,193 kg).

“In general, the volume of orders for meat, poultry and semi-finished products from them turned out to be within our forecasts, so our assemblers and couriers successfully satisfied the requests of all customers of the service. The low demand in the regions of the Caucasus, where barbecue is an integral part of the national culture, can be explained: there is a rather high level of consumption of meat and poultry coming to the tables from private and subsidiary farms. We are glad that we were able to help our customers from all regions of Russia meet the May holidays with dignity and we plan to work also actively in the future,” said Denis Nuzhdin, head of marketing for the Pyaterochka Delivery service.

Least of all meat and poultry - a little over 30 kg - were ordered by residents of Vladikavkaz. Against the background of the growth in demand for meat, the demand for meat gastronomy slightly decreased: the reduction in the number of orders for goods from this category was 3%. However, the demand for sausages and sausages, which are also often fried on the grill, barbecue or fire, has increased slightly, by 6%.
