Viktor Freidin, chairman of the Meat Union of Bashkiria, explained why beef, pork and other products have risen in price in the country.
“Here, imported expensive equipment from world leaders plays a significant role. There is domestic equipment in Russia, but it is more of a farmer and conditionally beginner character. Our large factories, which produce serious volumes of products, use foreign equipment. But, despite the course, first of all, problems with supplies and disruption of logistics affected the cost. And another important point - all suppliers switched to prepayment. This requires additional consolidation of resources in the industry,” said Viktor Freidin.
At the same time, he believes that a sharp increase in meat prices is not expected in the future.
“In general, of course, prices have risen, but in relation to the fact that today there has been some correction due to an increase in the cost of feed and an increase in costs, we expect a smooth increase within 10% during the year. We do not predict sharp changes in prices relative to today's positions,” Viktor Freidin emphasized.
