Russian meat producers need to gain a foothold in the African market, which is one of the most promising for domestic pork and poultry meat, says Sergey Yushin, head of the National Meat Association. He became a guest of the Veterinary and Life video studio.
“What pleases this year is that we are expanding our geography, more and more covering African countries. We supply our meat to the southern hemisphere of the planet. This applies to pork and poultry meat,” the head of the association said in an interview with ViZh.
Sergei Yushin drew attention to the difficulties associated with deliveries to the African market. This is primarily an undeveloped infrastructure. At the same time, the population of Africa is constantly growing and will reach 2.5 billion people by 2050. The consumption of meat on the continent is also increasing, which now barely reaches 30 kg per person per year. According to the interlocutor of "ViZh", in Africa there is a great need for inexpensive meat.
