The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) has ended; it has become very fruitful for the Russian agro-industrial complex: thanks to the signed agreements, serious projects have been launched.Earlier, the Agroanalytics Center already reported on the first results of the forum for agriculture.Let's talk about several more large-scale investment projects.
The Egg-Land company (part of the Tavros Group of Companies) plans to build a complex for the production and processing of chicken eggs with a capacity of 2 billion pieces in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2024–2025.in year. The total investment in the project will exceed RUB 27 billion. The corresponding agreement was signed at SPIEF. The infrastructure of the complex will be located in four municipal districts of the region, and a thousand jobs will be created at the enterprise. Thanks to the implementation of the project, egg production in the region can increase almost threefold, noted the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin. Last year, their production volume amounted to 1.1 billion units.
Tavros also plans to develop production facilities for pig breeding and pork processing in the Chelyabinsk region. The company will invest 2.7 billion rubles.in the construction of a feed mill and reconstruction of the Rodnikovsky Pig Farm, which was previously purchased from Trust Bank. By 2025, pork production at the updated enterprise will be about 25 thousand tons in live weight versus 17.7 thousand tons in 2023, the company specified.
In addition, Tavros signed two cooperation agreements with the government of Bashkortostan. The first involves the implementation of a joint project for the construction of an agro-industrial park in the Ufa region of the republic, the second is aimed at ensuring the comprehensive socio-economic development of the region. In particular, the project involves the construction of an “Agrovillage” with a total investment of at least 2 billion rubles. for the development of a tourism cluster.
The Rusagro company intends to build a plant in Kuzbass for the production of rapeseed and rapeseed oil. The launch of production is planned for 2027, the investment volume will be about 21 billion rubles. “This will be a modern production facility with large volumes of output - 1 million tons of rapeseed and 600-700 thousand tons of oil. Now it is important to work out logistics so that we can deliver our products across the country and abroad, including by rail,” said Acting Governor of Kuzbass Ilya Seredyuk.
The Eco-Culture agricultural holding plans to build a breeding and seed-growing center on the territory of the Voskresensky urban district of the Moscow region to develop new varieties and hybrids of vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce). The total investment volume is estimated at 10.7 billion rubles, the press service of the governor and the regional government reported. They clarified that the project is planned to be implemented until 2026. By 2027, the center's production capacity should reach 110-120 million tomato and cucumber seeds per year. The new center will include a breeding area for the development of new varieties and hybrids, a seed-growing area for their cultivation, a seed processing workshop, a laboratory and research complex, as well as laboratories for plant protection and nutrition, digital technologies, construction materials and lighting technologies.
Another important agreement was signed at SPIEF: on cooperation between the government of the Stavropol Territory and SoyuzSemSvekla LLC. The goal of the partnership is to create highly competitive varieties of sugar beet of domestic selection, as well as seed production using advanced technologies. “The average annual sugar beet harvest in the region is 1.8 million tons. We strive to ensure that every year an increasing part of it is provided by Russian seeds. The agreement that was signed today is another step on this path,” noted the region’s governor, Vladimir Vladimirov.
“Providing Russian sugar beet seeds is important for every region. We plan to produce sugar beet seeds in the Stavropol Territory because, due to climatic and other conditions, the region is most suitable for this. In addition, the signing of the agreement is the next step in our strategic plans to create a cluster of primary seed production and multiplication of seeds of commercial hybrids, within the framework of which we plan to produce seeds up to 50% of the needs of the Russian Federation market,” added General Director of SoyuzSemSvekla LLC Roman Berdnikov.
The head of Buryatia at the forum signed an agreement with the Rost group of companies on the construction of a new greenhouse complex for the production of vegetables for 10 billion rubles. Its construction will begin in Gusinoozersk in the second half of the year, the regional government reported. The annual vegetable harvest in the almost 20-hectare complex is expected to amount to 17 thousand tons. The project is designed to increase local vegetable production and increase the volume of their exports to neighboring regions and Mongolia.
Thanks to the agreements concluded by the Lipetsk region with the companies Grain Terminals and the Seed Standard Selection and Growing Center, more than 1.6 billion rubles will be invested in the development of agriculture in the region. The Grain Terminals company in the Zadonsky district of the Lipetsk region will build an elevator complex for 30 thousand tons of one-time grain storage. The launch of the facility is planned for the second quarter of 2025, the investment amount will be 619 million rubles. The selection and seed production center “Seed Standard” will invest 1.1 billion rubles.in the construction of a selection and seed production center in the Khleven district of the region. There they will produce seeds of soybean varieties with a capacity of 10 thousand tons per year, rapeseed varieties with a capacity of 7 thousand tons per year, and pea varieties with a capacity of 4 thousand tons per year. It is also planned to produce sunflower hybrids.
In addition, another project is planned to be implemented in Lipetskaya: businessman Alexander Tsverkunov intends to invest 800 million rubles.in the construction of a plant for processing oilseeds in the Dobrovsky district. The launch of the first stage is scheduled for December 2024. It is expected that the enterprise will be able to process up to 500 tons of oilseeds per day.
