During the working trip the Minister of Agriculture of the Territory Vladimir Sitnikov and the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Directorate Viktor Fetisov held a meeting with representatives of the slaughterhouses of the Levokumsky and Neftekumsky regions.

The main issues were the sale of mutton and the search for new export channels. Stavropol region produces 13 thousand tons of the product. The volume of supplies abroad is one thousand tons. This is done by 11 slaughter points. The meat is sent to Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the countries of the customs union.

The Ministry of Agriculture noted that the capacity of the domestic market does not allow selling products in the required volumes without harming the economy of  enterprises. In this regard, it is necessary to analyze the market, assess the export potential of the region and increase export volumes. Now the possibility of direct export supplies to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Belarus is being studied.
