In the 37th week of 2023, an upward trend was observed on the Russian meat market, led by pork, which had fallen in price a week earlier. Thus, in the 37th week, domestically produced pork half-carcasses became more expensive by 2.6%, the average price was 199.5 rubles per kilogram. The cost of live pigs of slaughter quality in the Central region of Russia increased by 1.5% - to 137.1 rubles per kilogram.
The level of wholesale prices for domestic beef and offal in Russia increased over the week by 0.4%, while beef half-carcasses were offered in the 37th week at an average of 358.2 rubles per kilogram, which is 0.7% higher than on 36 th week.
Prices for chicken meat increased by 0.1%. At the same time, the cost of chicken cuttings became lower by 0.2%, and by-products by 0.4%. Broiler chicken carcasses were sold on average in Russia at 201.3 rubles per kilogram, which is 0.2% higher than the previous week.
On the world market, prices for half-carcass pork decreased, continuing the trend of the previous week, by an average of 1.6%, to $2.16 per kilogram. World prices for live pigs increased by only 0.03%, remaining at $1.75 per kilogram. Against this background, the price of live bait in Brazil immediately increased by 5.2% due to rising feed prices.
World beef prices slowed their rate of decline to 0.4% from 1.1% a week earlier, to $5.50 per kilogram. Cattle prices returned to growth, but it was only 0.2%, and average prices remained at $3.59 per kilogram.
The average world price for a broiler chicken carcass amounted to $2.18 per kilogram, returning to growth - it amounted to 1.1%, largely due to Brazil, where the volume of poultry entering the country's market has decreased.
