The Damate company has achieved complete import substitution of turkey hatching eggs at its enterprises. Work in this direction was carried out systematically and step by step, and ended with the production of a breeding reproducer reaching full capacity in the Tyumen region.
The Damate company tops the list of leaders in turkey production, both in Russia and among European poultry farms. According to the company's statement, the need for hatching eggs at two Damate poultry factories was 30 million eggs per year. At the moment, Damate completely covers this need with its own production.
Damate turkey production enterprises are located in the Penza and Rostov regions and produce a total of 292 thousand tons of meat per year. To support the operation of these enterprises, three reproducers operate: a reproducer in the Tyumen region produces 12 million eggs, in the Rostov region - 11 million eggs, and another 7 million hatching eggs are supplied by a partner reproducer. Thus, the company was able to completely abandon the import of hatching eggs.
The company noted that its own production of hatching eggs allows us to reduce the percentage of losses during transportation and reduce the shelf life of eggs. Due to this, the quality of eggs increases, the hatchability of chicks increases - at the same time, due to the location of enterprises in different regions of the country, the company successfully complies with biosafety and reduces the risk of the spread of bird diseases. For Damate, its own parent herd has become the main competitive advantage of the company.
