The delegation of the African country Gambia visited poultry enterprises in the Belgorod region. The company plans to send its specialists here for training in order to develop the agricultural sector in the country later.
The Gambian delegation visited the Yasnye Zori enterprises that produce poultry meat and animal feed in the Belgorod Region. The Gambians are interested in the experience of raising animals, primarily cattle and poultry, as well as feed for these animals, since the livestock industry in the country is poorly developed - the Gambia covers only 20% of its meat needs, the rest is supplied to the country from abroad, mainly from Europe and USA. According to TASS, Russian producers are confident that Russia could replace part of the supply of meat to the Gambia.
At the same time, the Gambian delegation expressed interest in sending their specialists to study at the Yasnye Zori enterprises, in particular, at the feed mill. The lack of own feed is the main obstacle to the development of the poultry industry in the Gambia, members of the delegation explained. The Gambians would like to agree on the construction of a feed mill on their territory, but they are also ready to send their agricultural specialists to study in Russia, so that later they can establish a similar production technology in the Gambia.
The Gambia is a Muslim country, 90% of whose population consider themselves to this religion, members of the delegation noted. Halal chicken meat is one of the most sought after sources of protein in the country. Strengthening the country's food security depends on the production of its own high-quality poultry feed.
