Over 9.5 billion rubles will be additionally allocated to support the program of preferential lending to agricultural producers. This will help subsidize at least 28.8 thousand preferential loans. Such an order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, reported in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The funds will be used to subsidize credit organizations that provide preferential loans to enterprises of the agro-industrial complex. In 2021, about 80 billion rubles were provided for these purposes. The need for additional financing is associated with an increase in the key rate of the Bank of Russia. The source of funds will be the Government's reserve fund.

The preferential loan program for farmers was launched in 2017. Within its framework, agricultural producers can take a short-term or investment loan at a rate of up to 5% for the development of crop and livestock production, as well as for the construction, reconstruction or modernization of agricultural raw materials processing enterprises. A preferential short-term loan is issued for a period of up to 1 year, an investment loan - from 2 to 15 years. The difference between the preferential rate and the market rate is reimbursed to banks by the state.

‘Our farmers are implementing a number of projects through the program of preferential loans. They must not have problems with financing, otherwise the production cycle will be disrupted,’ Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on December 13.

The Prime Minister reminded that last week at a meeting on the socio-economic development of the regions and mortgage issues, it was discussed in detail that it was necessary to monitor changes in working conditions in the field of housing lending, to respond quickly to them, including in connection with changes in interest rates. ‘This applies equally to measures to support the agro-industrial complex provided by the Government,’ the head of the Cabinet of Ministers said.
