Russia continues to increase the production of agricultural products: in January-May, it produced 3% more than a year earlier, Rosstat reports.

“The volume of agricultural production of all agricultural producers (agricultural organizations, peasant (farm) households, household households) in May 2023 in current prices, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 509.6 billion rubles, in January-May 2023 - 1 trillion 904, 4 billion rubles, ”the materials of the statistical department say.

In January-May, compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, the sale of the main types of agricultural products by agricultural organizations increased. During this period, 25.9 million tons of grain, 5.5 million tons of livestock and poultry (in live weight), 8.2 million tons of milk, 14.4 billion eggs were sold through all channels. Grain sales increased by 50.4% over the five months of this year.

In May, agricultural organizations sold 5.4 million tons of grain, which is 4.2% more than in April.
