The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia held a preparatory event to organize a meeting on topical issues of production of machinery and equipment for the food and processing industry with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. The event was chaired by Deputy Minister Alexander Morozov. The preparatory meeting was attended by the leaders of the leading industry associations of the food sector: dairy, meat, fish, bakery, oil and fat industries.

During the preparatory event, VARPE President German Zverev informed about the work being carried out by the All-Russian Association of Fishermen together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, domestic manufacturers of fish processing equipment for import substitution in the fish processing industry.

There is a need for cutting equipment for the rough processing of raw fish, primarily pollock, cod, and herring. Requires high-tech equipment for the production of fillets and minced meat from raw fish. There is no equipment for automatic packaging of frozen products in transport, equipment for automatic freezing of fish, horizontal plate machines with automatic loading and unloading.

During his speech, the head of the leading association of Russian fishermen drew attention to the need to provide state support to enterprises involved in the design, engineering and production of components for fish processing. So, in the Far East, one of the oldest enterprises, Technological Equipment, is under threat of stopping and dismantling equipment due to the impossibility of renting production premises.

During the discussion, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexander Morozov proposed to provide financial support to domestic manufacturers of food equipment by providing state subsidies to enterprises that order equipment.
