Several regions will become participants in the implementation of a large project for the production of mutton in the Stavropol Territory. The plant for the production of lamb meat and fattening lambs is planned to be built in the Stavropol Territory by the Damate company. The planned production capacity is more than 25 tons of products per day, the estimated investment is 2 billion rubles. The volume of mutton production in the region, which now stands at about 27 thousand tons per year, is planned to double by 2024.

“Many thanks to all my colleagues who are participating in the development of the Damate project. We will not be able to raise a million sheep per year [in the Stavropol Territory], we don’t have such areas either. We involve Karachay-Cherkessia, Kalmykia, Dagestan in this huge project, " said the Damate representatives.

Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Caucasus reported that Iran was ready to consider an increase in the purchase of mutton in the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD). At present, the trade turnover of the subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District with Iran is $ 54 million, while the national level is $ 1.7 billion.
