All news / The number of cattle in Moscow region decreased by 2.1% in October 2018

By the end of October 2018 the cattle numbers  in farms of all categories in Moscow region decreased by 2.1% compared with the corresponding date of 2017 and amounted to 205.4 thousand heads, of which 95.1 thousand cows, reprts Mosoblstat.

At the same time, the number of pigs on the same date increased by 6.6%, to 346.2 thousand heads, sheep and goats - by 1.9%, to 64.5 thousand heads, poultry - by 30.8%, to 12, 1 million heads

“The private farms of the population accounted for 5.9% of cattle, 2.8% of pigs, 53.9% of sheep and goats, 4.6% of poultry (a year ago 5.7%, 3%, 55.5 % and 6% respectively).  The number of cattle in agricultural organizations of the Moscow region by the end of October 2018 decreased by 1.8% to 183.9 thousand heads compared with last year, of which 83.9 thousand cows (-1.6%). The number of pigs increased by 6.9%, to 331.9 thousand heads, sheep and goats - by 15.6%, to 13.98 thousand heads, poultry - by 33.2%, to 11.44 million heads.

At the same time, the production of meat (livestock and poultry in live weight) in farms of all categories in January-October 2018 increased by 0.3% compared to the same period in 2017, to 252.8 thousand tons, milk - by 1, 6%, up to 538.5 thousand tons, eggs - by 1.5%, up to 116.4 million units.
