As of March 1, 2021, in Ukraine there are 1 million 673.2 thousand head of cows, which is 5.5% less than in the corresponding period last year. This was reported by the analytical department of the Association of Dairy Producers, writes agronews.ua.
424.5 thousand head of cows are concentrated in agricultural enterprises. This is 1.9% less than in 2020. The number of livestock for the corresponding period was increased in Ivano-Frankivsk farms (+ 11.9%; 4.7 thousand head), Ternopol (+ 5.5%; 13.4 thousand head) and Vinnitsa (+ 4.4%; 31 thousand head) regions.
During the period under review, households reduced the dairy breeds livestock by 6.7% - to 1 million 248.7 thousand head. None of the regions demonstrated an increase in the number of cows. The most sold cattle were private farms of the Kherson region (18%, 37.4 thousand head), Zaporozhe (-13.9%; 32.1 thousand head) and the Kiev region (-12%; 21.2 thousand head).
