Deputies of the Majilis of Kazakhstan have ratified an agreement on measures to unify pedigree breeding work with agricultural animals within the EAEU. Sputnik emphasizes that work on the agreement began in 2014 within the framework of the EAEU Commission.

These measures should lead to the development of a common pedigree livestock market within the framework of the EAEU, the elimination of barriers to trade and an increase in the competitiveness of Kazakhstan pedigree breeding products. In addition, the agreement provides for the exchange of information by the EAEU member states on pedigree animals and breeding achievements.

Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Omarov at a meeting of the Chamber said that the agreement was signed in Moscow on October 25, 2019. "The agreement is aimed at implementing the agreed agro-industrial policy on the issues of pedigree breeding with agricultural animals within the EAEU, including through the unification of testing of the created types, breeds and crossbreeding of farm animals, as well as molecular genetic examination of breeding products, determining the breed of pedigree animals and assessing their pedigree value," the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan said.
