The departmental publication of Rosselkhoznadzor “Veterinary Medicine and Life”, with reference to TASS, reports that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation will consider the possibility of canceling customs duties on the import of chicken eggs for six months.
The ministry's initiative to introduce benefits for importers was supported by the subcommittee on customs, tariff, non-tariff regulation and protective measures in foreign trade. It is necessary to stabilize prices on the domestic market against the backdrop of increased demand and maintain the availability of socially important poultry products.
According to the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), in October the price of table eggs increased by 23.7% year-on-year.
