The share of profitable organizations in the agriculture of the Russian Federation in January-February decreased to 78.5% from 79.3% in the same period last year. The share of unprofitable organizations, respectively, increased to 21.5% from 20.7%, Rosstat reported.

Rosstat includes indicators and data on fishing, fish farming and hunting. In particular, the share of profitable organizations in crop production and animal husbandry decreased to 80.4% from 80.8% a year ago, in fisheries and fish farming it increased to 64.7% from 64.5%, respectively.

According to Rosstat, the profit of agriculture in January-February this year amounted to 112.1 billion rubles, which is 15.3% less than in the same period last year, the loss amounted to 25.4 billion rubles (33% less). The balanced result was 8.1% less than last year and amounted to 86.7 billion rubles.

Farms of all categories of the Russian Federation (agricultural organizations, farmers, households) in March this year compared to the same month last year increased agricultural production by 3.3%, in the first quarter the growth was 2.9%, Rosstat reported.

A year ago, growth rates were higher: in March - 7.4%, in the first quarter - 5.4%.

According to preliminary estimates, in March this year, production in current prices amounted to 421.2 billion rubles, in the first quarter - 930.9 billion rubles.

Rosstat also reported that as of April 1, sowing was carried out by agricultural organizations in 17 regions. Spring crops were sown on 582 thousand hectares, which is 32.8% more than a year earlier, of which cereals and legumes (without corn) - on 352 thousand hectares (28.4% more).

According to Rosstat, in the first quarter of this year, farms of all categories, according to calculations, ensured the market entry of 3.8 million tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight), which is 3% more than a year ago. Milk production increased by 3.7%, to 7.3 million tons, eggs - by 3.9%, to 11 billion pieces. In March, the production of livestock and poultry increased by 2.2%, to 1.3 million tons, milk - by 3.7%, to 2.7 million tons, eggs - by 3.9%, to 3.9 billion pieces.

According to Rosstat, in the first quarter, in the structure of livestock and poultry production in agricultural organizations, an increase in the share of pig production was noted. In March, they were issued 466.1 thousand tons, which is 5.5% more than a year earlier. Poultry production increased by 2.3% to 568.8 thousand tons, cattle - decreased by 0.6% to 93.6 thousand tons. In total, in March, agricultural organizations produced 1.132 million tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight), which is 3.3% more than in March last year.
