The Republic of Bashkortostan, Penza, Rostov and Tambov regions became the leaders in terms of output among the regions in this direction last year. The Ministry of Agriculture recalled that turkey farming among all areas of poultry farming in the country demonstrates the highest growth rates, and over the past five years Russia has risen in the world ranking from seventh to third place.

Last week, NAPI and Agrifood Strategies reported that according to the results of last year, the Damate group again became the largest turkey producer in Russia, increasing production from 200 thousand tons to 215 thousand tons. The second place in 2022 was again taken by the Cherkizovo group ”, which produced 80 thousand tons. In 2021, Tambov Turkey, consolidated by Cherkizovo, produced 52.4 thousand tons of products.

The top 10 producers also included Askor (4.7 thousand tons), Belgorod Turkey (4.6 thousand tons), Yuzhny poultry complex (3.9 thousand tons), Egorievskaya poultry farm ( 3.5 thousand tons) and Vostochnaya Agro (3.4 thousand tons).

Meanwhile, Damate's press service reported that the company has increased the capacity of the turkey breeding reproducer in the Rostov region to 11 million eggs per year. "Damate" launched the production of hatching eggs on the fourth block of the reproducer, all sites of the parent flock are fully operational. To date, the need of the Rostov complex for hatching eggs is about 5 million pieces, the enterprise became self-sufficient in September 2021. An additional 6 million Rostov hatching eggs ensure the loading of the incubators of the turkey production complex in the Penza region.
