Lifting the import ban was based on the report received from the Saudi technical team that visited Ukraine.

The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has lifted the temporary ban imposed on importing live sheep (lamb and goat) and cattle, for breeding or slaughtering, from Ukraine, informs Black Sea Grain website.

The General Director of the Department of Animal Risk Assessment, Dr. Sanad AlHarbi, said that lifting the import ban was based on the report received from the Saudi technical team that visited Ukraine and recommended lifting the ban according to the special requirements of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
During the first three quarters of 2018, Ukrainian meat exports have increased by 1.5 times, Egypt being the main market for red meat and poultry exports.
On 1st of November, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman declared that his government wants to grow beef and poultry output in order supply the domestic market and to boost exports. The total value of Ukrainian meat exports in the first 9 months of the year reached $397 million.
