According to the Director General of the Russian National Union of Pig Farmers Yuri Kovalev, the most priority for vaccination are enterprises with a large population of people. In the profiling sphere of the Union, these are slaughter plants and meat processing facilities.
«"This is confirmed by the American experience, where, along with social workers and doctors, meat industry workers are in priority, because behind all this is the possibility of uninterrupted food supply," Veterinary Science and Life issue quotes Yuri Kovalev.
A similar position was voiced by the Director General of the Russian National Union of Poultry Farmers Sergey Lakhtyukhov. "Given that a larger number of specialists in our industry are employed at slaughter and reprocessing sites, it is advisable to focus primarily on them. Further - cultivation enterprises,"- said Sergey Lakhtyukhov.
He added that vaccination should be exclusively voluntary. However, industry enterprises have already begun to form lists, since before the regional governing bodies of the agro-industrial complex, the relevant ministry set the task of forming applications for the necessary number of vaccines for employees of continuous-cycle enterprises as soon as possible.
